LOCAL ISSUES, Chach. Zertanak, circa 640-730. AE (Bronze, 19 mm, 1.90 g). Facing bust turned slightly to right. Rev. The tamgha of Farankat; legend around, ‘pny ʾkrty cʾcynk xwβw zyrt’, i.e. ‘pan-i (ə)kərtē Čāčēnk xūβu Zērt’ (‘Coin made by the king of Chach, Zert[anak]’ in Sogdian). Lurje 1575. Shagalov & Kuznetsov 125. Very rare. Areas of weakness and with cleaning scratches on the reverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
